Cylindrical roller bearings have rollers that provide a modified line contact with the cylindrical inner and outer ring raceways, while the rollers are guided by ground ribs on either the inner or outer ring. The cylindrical shape allows the inner ring to have axial movement relative to the outer ring. This is especially important when accommodating thermal expansion, where both rings must be press-fitted.

The LYNB range of four-row cylindrical roller bearings comprises the basic types.

LYNB four-row cylindrical roller bearings with cylindrical bore are available in many designs dictated by the application or by maintenance considerations. The various designs differ basically in the number of inner and outer rings as well as in the number of loose or integral flanges on the outer ring. There are also differences in cage design and in the number of rollers per cage pocket. LYNB four-row cylindrical roller bearings are mainly used for rolling mill like cold hot rolling mill and blooming mill. The bearing is separable i.e. the rings and rolling elements could be separated. Therefore it is convenient to wash check mount and dismount.

1. The bearings of the FC design are consisted of two outer rings and one inner ring which have two integral flanges on outer rings a center flange in the middle and a flangeless inner ring. 

2. Essentially the FCD design bearing is consisted of two type NN bearings. Type FC and FCD bearing can permit axial displacement in double directions of the housing relative to the shaft. Therefore they are suitable to be used as non-locating bearings. Normally their cages is made by solid machined cage.

Most cages for LYNB cylindrical roller bearings are pressed steel cages or machined brass cages. According to different working conditions and customers requirements cages with other design and structure could be supplied.
